If a business, government office, or other source owes you money that you don’t collect, it's considered unclaimed. If the funds are not timely claimed, the government keeps the fund.

There is a statute of limitations to enforce private loans. Only remedies allowed under State law can occur. Enforcement can usually only occurs if the lender sues and wins.
